  1. I'm still debating it. Either way it won't be for a year or so, I have little kids so I'm waiting for my youngest to be in school. It's a good program though, from what I hear. Good luck! :)
  2. Can i be nosy and ask where you go?
  3. Thanks, TraumaRus. It's good to know there's a place for that. I'm trying to decide whether it makes sense to to an RN to MSN bridge (since I have a B.A.) or whether I should try to go somewhere for the BSN and then see. I read your blog about 10 easy steps to an APN. LOL.
  4. I didn't, I know a lot of people did though. What worked best for me, especially because you only meet once a week, is to read the chapter before lecture, and usually what I didn't "get" from reading she covered in lecture. Your book comes with bunches of online stuff to do, and Dr. Jay also offers quizzes and her lecture notes online. Study groups worked too. When in doubt, ask - I found that most the time, it helped me to hear other people's questions and Jay's answers. Lots of folk have told me this is the series (AP 1 and 2) that separates those who will make it and those that don't. You can do it! :)
  5. I had Sarathy for 1 and 2. From what hear, she's by far the best. Labs are tough, not going to lie, but if you pay attention, she makes sure you get it. You'll love her.
  6. Just finished AP2. Who is your instructor?
  7. I'm taking my prereqs at WCC right now. I'm glad to see people ahead of me in the process so maybe I can bug you about what to expect.
  8. I apologize if this has been asked elsewhere...I'm just starting out on the road to nursing. In my preliminary looking around, I seem to be leaning towards a long term goal of becoming an NP. I think my interest lies in the emergency room, as I did a stint as an EMT back in the early 90s. That said, do emergency rooms in Illinois hire NPs? What schools should I look at for this? I have a B.A. degree, and am working on my nursing prereqs right now. Unfortunately, I'm a much more committed student in my 30s than I was back when, so my GPA with my undergrad is nothing to write home about, although I am 4.0 now. Would any of these schools that offer the bridge to a master's even look at me, or am I better off getting my RN at a community college or the BSN before I think about the master's? I know there's about 50 questions I've asked, but as an older student I really don't want to waste time if there's a faster way to go about it. Thanks!
