Anyone going to be in RN Residency in MultiCare this February? I just got an offer in Tacoma General Hospital. I'm excited and somewhat nervous. :nailbiting::cheeky:

I applied for the OR/PACU and ED as well. It status says "considering" so we will see. Fingers crossed. I am hopeful :) Good luck to you too!

Hi TinSathRN,

Did you got an interview/offer in MultiCare?

Masonorrn,

Fingers crossed! Thank you so much for giving me information regarding the residency program. I will definitely look around allnurses to seek more information and I'll let you know if I find out more details. I am so excited and can't wait to start my transition from a new grad to a registered nurse. Hope to see you at orientation!!!

Hi NurseKath,

So I am assuming that you accepted the offer in MultiCare? Congrats! :) See you there

Hi masonorrn! I have not. My application still says "considering" so we will see.

When I checked today, the status says "Not Selected" and today (February 2nd) that position is no longer available... :(

I'm sorry to hear that. I think the OR/PACU positions was filled quickly. Hope you get other positions soon.

Yeah, I have applied to six hospitals and I have not heard any definite answer as to if I was selected or not. I am hopeful and I guess I need to be a little persistent. Hope you guys have a wonderful experience at TG with the residency program and beyond!

Hi is anyone starting the residency on the 20th? I'm already a multicare employee (worked as a nurse tech & CNA) so I won't see you until the 21st but hello! I'm going to be working in Adult Critical Care/ICU

Masonorrn,

Thank you again for posting this thread, if it wasn't for this post I would not have had the opportunity to interview for this residency program. Indeed, I will see you at orientation!!!

Just_keep_swimming, BSN, RN,

I will be starting the residency on the 20th! Congrats to you starting in Adult Critical Care/ICU! I will be working in the NICU. Since you have previously worked for multicare, have you heard much about their residency program? I was wondering if you could provide me with more insight.

The first two weeks will be classroom (which you've probably already gotten the schedule, I'm sorry for not replying sooner!) If not, it's 0800-1630 Monday through Friday at various locations, just let me know and I can send you a copy of mine. After that, depending on your unit, you'll be working up to 40 hours per week. My unit is 4, 6, or 12 hour shifts. I don't really know much more than that because they've changed the residency program from the last group that went, supposedly it's less classroom time and more unit time (which I'm excited about, I know classroom learning is important but it's so boring lol) Let me know what other questions I can try to answer and congrats on the NICU! I've had to go down there a couple times when we had NICU patients mom's (DIC/Severe HELLP syndrome, etc) and deliver their breast milk. The nurses/unit seems really nice!

Hey Just_keep_swimming, BSN, RN,

I am so excited, NEO is tomorrow!!! I haven't received my schedule yet. Most likely I may receive it tomorrow. Would you mind sending me a copy of your schedule so I could try to get a feel of what my schedule may look like. Thank you so so much for providing me with new information. There's only so much you can find on the web. Hope we get to meet during classroom time!

I'll send it now, I think we can message on here right?
