Best places to live for army nurse

U.S.A. Washington

Published

Hey everyone! I joined the army nurse corps and have one of my duty choices as Washington State next year!!! I am so excited to having the possibility of living there for 3 years. I'm hoping that all of you WA locals can help me with something! I am a single 26 y/o female without children and will be receiving a Housing allowance from the army of $1128 per month. What are some suggestions for places to live where it's a nice area and within my price range? I don't mind high-rise condos, or a nice townhome or apt... I look foward to reading your responses!

Renee,

Just outside of FLWA is a small new community that is called Dupont that is essentially adjacent/across from FLWA, mostly military and a general nice place to live.

Just south of FLWA (FLWA is highway exit 119-123'ish) is Lacey (around 114'ish) and is a larger small area with a good deal of military but more non-mil. Lot's of normal things like walmart, costco, etc.. lots of variation from apartments to rental homes... no 'high rises'.

Farther south is Olympia WA which is the capital and also a very interesting place to live... lots of variance.. but near downtown are some nice / fun walks, farmers markets etc.

If you go north from FLWA you drive through Tacoma, you hit the 512 highway which goes E and W - and can get you to Puyallup... Some people continue going north to around 140'ish to Federal way....

I'm going to message you a specific recommendation.
