wants to bridge from RPN to BScN but have low GPA

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hi everyone! I just finished the RPN program here in Ontario and have recently decided that I would like to do the bridging program at Centennial or George Brown. I finished with a GPA of 2.67 while the minimum admission criteria for bridging at Centennial College is 3.0(B) and George Brown is 3.3(B+). I would like to know how I can upgrade/increase my GPA so that I may be qualified to apply. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

I would contact each school and find out what courses are required that you could take. For example, I've taken all humanities, social sciences, anatomy, micro, math, English/speech, and nutrition courses for my RN program, yet I don't start until Jan. I'll be with less than full-time hours when in the program, as I only need pure nursing courses. It will be nice to focus on nursing and be with fewer hours so can focus on clinicals, etc. So, yeah, take as many courses as you can that apply to your credits (make sure they transfer!!!). Good luck!
