Any advice on short term travel assignments and what companies are reputable? I want to do this to help during the pandemic but also to get out of debt, might be too transparent but there it is. Little over 3 years cvicu/open heart experience including covid + ecmo. Before that I was an LPN and worked med-surg/ortho for 4 years. I feel like I have a good base for travel but I know it will be challenging. I’m open to learn and it’s pretty overwhelming sifting through the different companies. Thanks!

Forget about reputable agencies. Go in with the idea that all agencies are scum, and you inner skeptic will do well. In any case, better to have a good recruiter at a bad agency than the reverse. How can you tell? For starters, call lots of them and pick the ones you communicate well with. If you cannot communicate, all is lost.
What do you mean by a short assignment? Traditional travel assignments are 13 weeks, but given the amount of crisis assignments, you can probably get any length of assignment from 4 weeks up.
Short term as in 4 weeks or less. I have seen some 4 week assignments posted and Krucial staffing offering 2 weeks I believe.
I have never traveled so I’m trying to figure out why some companies offer transportation to jobs arranged and paid as well as housing while on assignment and then some companies don’t mention that at all. What is the standard and which is a better option?
You have to ask for a detailed breakdown on every offer every time. Bottom line is how much you can put in the bank after expenses. Sign up for a free account on PanTravelers to use the Traveler's Calculator so you can compare different offers directly.
