Walters State, Chattanooga State?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has went to either Walters State or Chattanooga State and done the LPN-RN programs? I am currently at RSCC in Harriman and getting in this spring does not look promising due to program changes. Please let me know, I have been looking at different schools. I will be done with pre-req's this fall and was hoping to go in the program in the spring or the summer. Thanks to anyone who replies.

Amanda LPN-RN (if I can find a program):nurse:

I am currently enrolled in Walters State's RN program (1st semester and counting) so I don't know alot about the bridgeover program. Your best bet is to call the nursing program and talk to one of the advisors. This is the website for the nursing program http://www.wscc.cc.tn.us/health/nursing/default.asp

Here is what our college catalog says:

CAREER MOBILITY PROGRAM

The Career Mobility Program is an accelerated curriculum track for

the licensed practical nurse (LPN) that recognizes the knowledge

and skills of the LPN. Individuals seeking admission to the program

must meet college admission requirements, be a graduate of a

practical nursing program, have a total of one or more year's working

experience as an LPN within the last three years and meet the

same academic requirements in the pre-clinical, science and general

education courses as students admitted under the regular nursing

program. When the above requirements are met, the student should

contact the director of Nursing regarding application for admission

to the clinical nursing program and registration for NURS 1180/1181

(Transition to Nursing). Upon completion of NURS 1180/1181 with

a grade of "C" or higher, credit will be awarded for NURS 1170

(Nursing Process-CM) and the student will then be admitted into the

second year of the clinical nursing program.

Hope this helps some!

Thank you

This really does help. So how do you like the program? Are all the instructors friendly and willing to help you? I may try to call them today and see what they say and maybe take a little trip up ther next week. I worked with a few people in Knoxville that got or were getting their RN from there. Who knows we maybe in class together if I apply and get in for the next year!!:nurse:

Thanks again,

Amanda,

I really like the program so far even tho it's alot of work. The 1st year instructors are wonderful and more than willing to help any way they can. I heard all the horror stories about them before I started - they can be tough when it's needed, but they are really fair. Glad I could be a help, let me know if you have any more questions.
