Ok ladies and Gents,
I purchased my books and uniforms today from Wallace *Drum Roll Please* The total was 739.00.
It was sooo many books and they were the basic books I needed nothing extra except for the lab kits. I almost panic but I thought about my accomplishment of at least getting into the program. Also, for those of you preparing to order the uniforms my total was 154.00. Good luck and God Bless. :loveya:

Wow, you got out there way cheaper than I did. I think I spent over $1000 because I bought almost every single book and notes and lab pack and 2 white scrubs and 2 blue scrubs. I figured go ahead and buy 2 of each that way I didn't have to do laundry every day. I have already started on my Calculate with Confidence book.
Cool, Im going to start on it tonight

Congrats, to you all of you getting in the nursing program! That is great that you are starting on the Calculate with Confidence book! It is really self explanatory and you will probably teach yourself better than the teacher! Getting ahead start is great. I wish I had! I was lost up until like a month ago! LOL! I still passed though! Unfortunately one of my friends didn't pass her math validation test and has to take PHARMACOLOGY completely over and can not progress with the rest of the class! Total BUMMER! It is not really hard once you learn how to do it! So getting the head start is good in your favor! Go through more than just the 1st 5 chapters, thats just basic math! Everything after that will be used throughout the course! Congrats again and get ready for the ride of your life! Not trying to scare you, just being real!
What kind of nursing shoes are people buying? I wanted to get some Danskos.
I haven't quite decided on shoes yet I finally made up my mind to purchase a Littman stethoscope; however, I think I'm going to purchase a pair of Nursing shoes from Cherokee I forget the name but they are extremely highly recommended by the Nurses at my job.

purchase a Littman stethoscope..
Are you planning to purchase the stethoscope from Wallace or elsewhere?
I've been looking online but I might purchase it from the school.

Snoozies @ UAB has a ton of nursing gear. I got a very decent stethoscope for 45 I think. Just don't get suckered into buying a 80 dollar cardio stethoscope.
