Walden University

I am curious if anyone has attended this university online? I am looking at a PhD in Education and it seems to meet my workload as a faculty member and I like the tracks they offer.

Any experience?

I don't have specific experience but Walden was one of the first distance doctorates and is well regarded. It is regionally accredited so you can't go wrong if you want a distance program. Good luck.

Yes, I know they are accredited and that they seem to be the guru or one of them for distance education. Now, if I could only find out whether my MSN will be accepted, then I will be able to make a clear decision. I definitely don't want any further formalized nursing education, but I find that some more educational theory would assist me in my academic role as faculty member. It is truly amazing how many faculty members do not concern themselves with improving their teaching ability. To me, one can always improve and I am committed to that too.

Thanks,

Barbara

There is no reason they would not accept your MSN as long as it is accredited. From what I understand a lot of nurses are in the Walden program. Good luck.

Ken;)

Yes, Ken, my degree is from an accredited institution, but I was curious if I was going to need another Masters' in Education prior to the PhD...still waiting to hear from them.

I viewed your site and really enjoyed it....very interesting work that you are involved in .... Bravo!
