Walden University in Indiana

Hello!

I have been looking into going to Walden for my BSN-MSN FNP degree and am wondering if nurse practitioners from Indiana can practice after completing Walden's program. I have contacted the state board of nursing from Indiana and Minnesota (where Walden is) and cannot really find an answer. The people that answer the phones at the BON are not exactly friendly or helpful. Does anyone have any information? Thanks!!!

State BONs do not approve or disapprove any FNP programs like they do with pre licensure, but most, if not all states, they have to be accredited. As long as its accredited you should be fine, but what you could do is check the application process to be an FNP there, it may tell you something. I have never heard, at least so far, of a MSN graduate of a certain college be denied to practice in any state. The issue sometimes though is whether the BON will allow you to be precepted in their state, which is why many online programs limit certain states (like Walden).
