Walden MSN-Leadership/Management

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hello!

I am interested in pursuing my MSN in Leadership and Management. Walden University's program has caught my attention. I did start the MSN -Executive track at Chamberlain College of Nursing, but honestly was not pleased with the program so I withdrew from class. However, I would like speak with fellow students of alumni of this particular program. I have read other posts of students who are pursuing the MSN-Education track, but not many of the Leadership/Management track. How long did it take to complete the program? How many classes did you take at a time? Would you recommend taking more than 1 class at a time? What is the length of each class? How did you go about your practicum? What is your life like now post graduation? Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I started the MSN Leadership program on 10/31 and I am so far very pleased with it. The first term starts with 2 courses followed by 1 class per term. The program runs a consecutive 17 months. The program is strict and time consuming as you are required to post to the discussion board at least 3 times per week this includes citing references in APA format and also submitting papers every week. My classmates have amazing backgrounds in nursing and are a wealth of information. The classes are about 8 weeks in length. I read some posts on this site from graduates of the program and Walden has received great reviews.

Thanks Rocki for your reply! I've noticed that the advisor assigned to me has not been proactive in giving me information regarding the program, which has decreased my interest in wanting to apply. I do like the curriculum and that the program's option of the speciliazation. I need to inquire as to what the tuition and fee's include since it is a great cheaper than other online universities.

I am sorry to hear that. I had a really attentive advisor and I will try to PM you the name. The tuition includes everything: courses and books. The books are sent to your home 1-2 weeks before your classes actually start.
