Wake Tech ADN Spring 2018

Hello All!

I will be applying this July 31 for admission in the Spring 2018 nursing program at Wake Tech. I just wanted to start a space where we could talk about the process. I am finishing 2 classes (PSY 241 and ENG 112) and start my CNA class May 16th. It's been a lot to balance while having a full time job and kids, but doable. I think I will have about 187 points.

What about you all?

Hey! I am working full time now. I will most likel be going supplemental or one day a week. I don't have plans to work as school will be my priority. Hopefully we hear back mid September!

Hey rntobe1108...I am really doing all I can now to save and pay off bills in preparation to not have to work....or at least not full time...I am a single mom with one high school child at home. While I wont have to worry about baby sitters....I do have to think about income. Do you have any idea how the class schedules are? I know there are not many (if any) evening classes...but should we expect to have class every day (M-F)......I am clueless...any thoughts.....?

I totally understand. My husband will be the sole provider if I decide best I can't, so I get it! I hear you...but from what I heard and could be wrong.. Maybe some one who is in the program can explain better..but I talked to a senior nurse in the program and it goes something like lecture can be anywhere from 8-12 one or two days?? and then there's lab and typically where you are assigned clinical (am or pm) is usual one or two days (some one correct me haha) and he said some times depending on which semester there is a day off. I don't think there are any evening classes besides the pm clinical group.

Oh I see....thanks for the information! I am just going to keep stashing away savings and look for a sponsor (hahaha)!! Also, I am just now attempting to calculate my points....I have the point guideline...and am I understanding that Psy150, psy 210 and psy241 have DOUBLE points??!!

Psy 150 and psy 241 are worth 24 points if an A. 18 for B and 12 for C

Yes!!! This is the last time it will be worth double. I am getting so nervous. I ended up w 168 points, but I'm working 3 jobs. It seems like 160's should be enough to get us in!!! The wait is hard. Lol I am in same boat as onerichnurse. Single mom as well w a senior getting ready to graduate high school. Trying to save as much as I can. I wish all of you the Best!!!

I got my sheet not long ago from BW.. What's this double the points?

So..its my understanding that the grades for Psy150, 210, and 241 will be doubled through this cycle...and beginning with the January 31st application they will no longer double.....Sooooo if that is true...I will have 259 points...???! That cannot be right....is it? I need some point calc help....LOL!!!

I am almost positive that that system not no longer. The highest is 216

When the points were ranging into the 200s that was the previous system. Pretty sure at least. BW the advisor calculated my points and I entered with 181 out of 216. You could always email an advisor!
