Wait Lists for SE Michigan SchoolS

Published

Ok People,

I did some calling around and here is what I found:

Schoolcraft College has a 2 year waiting list

Oakland CC has no wait list

Madonna U has no wait list for the Pre Nurse program and a short wait list for the Actual Nurse Program

Washtenaw CC has a 2-3 year wait list

Henry Ford CC I haven't heard back from yet

Hope that helps

I can only talk about Madonna and Schoolcraft.

Schoolcraft has a pretty good program from what I hear. They have a certain amount of classes that must be taken before you can apply to program. You have to have a 2.5 gpa in all the classes and pass the NET (I hear they are going to the TEAS soon).

I am in Madonna's program. There is no waiting list like you said, but they do have some classes that must be taken at the University before you can apply. You need the FL2100 (Community and Culture in Nursing), Pathophysiology (I think you can apply before you take this), Nutrition for health professionals and all of your other pre-reqs.

When I got in there were about 300 applicants and they accept about 80 people. It is getting really competitive because of all the factory jobs that were lost and people from it going into the health care field. I recommend that you speak with a councilor (Dr. Kathleen Kross is the undergraduate director and a very nice person) as she would probably be able to put you on the right track.

I can't say enough about Madonna's program. It is hard as hell, but everywhere I go I see people in specialty nursing that came from Madonna. I know a heck of a lot of CRNA's that came from this program as well as ICU nurses. It is really expensive though which is a negative. Don't forget that you also have to take some religious courses as well as their English test when transferring from another university.

Good luck to you all.
