Wait Listed!

I just got an email from one of the schools I applied to. The Director of Admissions said that I have been accepted, but since the slots for the fall are already filled, that I have been put on the wait list.

She said they always get cancellations and thinks I have a *reasonable* shot for fall 2007 clinicals because the wait list is not long right now.

The only thing going for me right now is that everyone in this area applies to this school but only goes there in *worst case senarios* because it is so expensive. If they get into cheaper schools, they obviously go there!

So, that is what I am hoping for. I sent an email back wondering how far down on the list I am.

One answer down, 4 more schools to go. I can't decide if I am sad or happy. :( I think I'm sad!

so, i emailed her to find out where i am on the list and i got this back:

there are 9 people on the waiting list and i won't know where you are on the list for a couple of days.

oh man! :(

Hey gottagetin, what school was that for? This whole waiting thing sucks!

It is still pretty early so I bet spots will open up and move you from the wait list to the accepted list! It sounds promising, plus you have many more options still! :)

Was this for Riv? If you don't get one of the slots for the fall will you automatically be in for the next start? If it is Riv, I seem to remember that they used to have an evening program that rarely filled up, so maybe that's an option? Best of luck to you!

Hang in there! I went to NHCTC-Stratham, and the first year I applied I was wait-listed. I was #8 of 8. Although I never made it off the wait list that fall, I hadn't yet finished my pre-reqs anyway....so I used the time to finish those up. And then I was offered automatic admission the next fall.

Plus, it sounds like you have other schools pending, so don't sweat it. You'll get in somewhere! Anyway, use your time now to bank sleep for when you ARE in school, lol!
