Volunteering worth in in 1st term of lpn

Hello all!

I am going into week 5 of my program !! Times flies!!

I am enjoying if but it is a ton of work I study everyday. I recently called a genesis healthcare facility to see if they would let me volunteer...its a rehab facility and plan to maybe do 2-5 hours a week. Since I am in term 1 do you think its too soon to volunteer?

By the way I loveeee this site reading all the posts encourage me!

I've been volunteering for a year. Started october 2012 and still volunteering today and just hit my 250 hour mark!

I started my program in july 2013, since then i've only volunteered about 2 hours a week. Most nurses at the facility i volunteer at, commend me that i still volunteer while in a program.

I don't think its ever too early to volunteer, but when you volunteer make sure you help out as much as you can. I see volunteers that just stand/sit there doing nothing. Always ask what you can do etc, they've told me i'm their best volunteer so far and they are always glad/relieved when i drop by :)
