volunteering for nursing school

Published

Hi,

I was wondering if nursing schools accept volunteering at a hospital as work experience? I know that some schools only count actual paid work experience, but would the volunteer experience help a lot?

Also, i think i have asked this before, but did anyone get into the east bay nursing program?? I really want to go there and i will apply next fall. I just want to know what your GPA and TEAS score was...if you don't mind...i would like to know everything. :)

Also, i speak fluent Punjabi (my home language), will that help? Some schools say that you need to be certified to get the additional points, but i'm not and i don't know what to do. Can anyone explain this to me further?

Thank you!

Hi!

I think the CSU system is accepting either work experience or volunteer experience. There is a definite hour requirement, so check with your school to make sure. :)

I think it's wonderful that you are bilingual. There may be some way to get around the requirements for that, or perhaps you can test out of it.

All the best!
