is volunteering in a hospital can be considered as a work experience?

i was thinking to volunteer while waiting for the jobs i have applied to call back.. any insights?

I don't see why not--that's my plan too. In fact, one of my NS instructors said that volunteering would be better than doing nothing at all, because with volunteering you're getting at least some experience.

i attended a job fair and one of the speakers there told us that by volunteering you can have the so called "network", knowing somebody from the inside. then by that maybe you can get a job. i dont know but it isnt a bad idea though.
