Vidant Nursing Residency in Greenville NC

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi all, I am going to visit for interviews at Vidant in the coming work and I wanted to hear any advice or perspectives on what it is like to work there. I am interviewing with NICU, paeds ER, and SIU. Any advice, information or perspectives??

Also, how is the area of Greenville as a place to live? I am especially interested in finding out more about the crime rate in Greenville, as I've heard it is quite high. I am from Toronto (Canada) and have been blessed with growing up and living in a very safe city. I will not have a vehicle if I re-locate, and I would likely be coming alone.

What are the places/neighbourhoods that are safe to live in and which are unsafe/to be avoided? Any places within walking distance to hospital? I've seen "gated communities" which is something I'm unfamiliar with -- is this something I should look into?

It would be very difficult to live in Greenville but not impossible. As for the units you are interviewing for it depends on your interest. Seems like you are interested in kids. You will not work with kids on SIU. That's where I work I'm also a preceptor there. Peds Ed gets a lot of fevers and runny noses occasionally get broken bones from what I've heard. Winterville is a super safe community. But it's about 10 minutes from the hospital and you would need a car. There is a gated community across from the hospital you could walk from. I think it's call TreyBrooke

What is the new grad salary? I am coming down from maryland for an interview. Also, what units would you suggest to interview with?
