I went through the interview process, but chose a different job offer. I was impressed by their interview process. I lived out of state (Indiana), I had a phone interview with HR (nurse recruiter), then a phone interview with the unit manager. I got an email several weeks later to set up an appointment for an in-person interview. They paid for my airfare, 2 nights hotel, and rental car for the interview. After the interview I shadowed a nurse for several hours before heading back to the hotel. Unfortunately, they were not going to make a decision for another month (Interviewed in Nov. for the Feb Residency program) and got a call the next day for a job offer at another hospital (that I would have chosen anyway).
No real interview questions, mostly "tell me about yourself" type questions. I talked about my schooling, grades, my externship experience. I was very impressed how I was treated by HR, unit manager, and staff. It almost seemed as if they were trying to convince me to work for them instead of me having to convince them to hire me. If it was in a bigger city and was equal to the types of patients we get on a routine basis in my current hospital, I would have jumped on it in a second.
Hey TNursingStudent, it went well. I received an offer from CICU. They were sooooo nice. Just be yourself! I'm not saying that they aren't going to pay attention to your answers to their questions, but they are more focused on your personality and seeing if you will be a good fit for their unit. It was not bad at all! Just go in there confident and let your "uniqueness" resonate!!!! What floors are you interviewing for?
Ah SRA16, congrats!! Did you take letters of recommendation with you? Or had you submitted them online before your interview? How long did you wait before they made an offer? Sorry, ha! I'm full of questions today. I'm excited and terrified all at the same time!! I'm interviewing for NICU, pediatric rehab, and SICU.

0Hey everyone!
I am set to graduate in May of '16, and I have applied to Vidant Medical Center's Nurse Residency Program. I was called back for an interview, & I was wondering if anyone has been through this program or has any general information about their interview process, etc.? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
