Very nervous for 3rd semester

Published

I just passed all my finals for 2nd semester. Today was my skills assessment (Which I failed yesterday so I had to rewrite it today). I'm not sure what it's like at other schools, but at my school we are allowed 3 rewrites for the whole year and if we use them all up then we have to repeat the whole program..which I find really scary. I only have 1 rewrite left and I'm not sure how i'm going to make it. I know most of you will tell me to think positive and forget about the rewrites and just study alot but it's very hard to not think about that 1 rewrite.

I dont know... i'm getting very nervous and i'm not even in third semester. This Monday, I start my practicum for 2nd semester and I'm nervous about that too. School is sooo stressful lol.

Just need to vent out a little bit. I'm going to head out soon with some friends to relieve some stress. I'll post my 3rd semester schedule in a bit ... I need some study habit tips!

My first study tip is to adjust what you do socially to accommodate what you have to achieve academically.

NEVER QUIT! I'm a 2nd year RN student. When you feel like you have no idea what you are doing, and your hands are shaking, and you feel like you should just give up...take some deep breaths...and tell yourself you are going to see your goal through to the end. The grass has got to be greener or you wouldn't be in school...Work your butt off to get what you need to get done then treat yourself to something good in the spare time you manage to find. When I feel overwhelmed, tired and stressed...I say whatever I'll just do it anyway.

bigboy - are you seriously devoting the appropriate amount of time to your studies? are you working in a group?

have you discussed this with your instructors?

if you can't do this on your own and have serious concerns about your ability to make it through school, best to seek assistance from those that can help.

assess where you are weak. if you are strong in lecture but weak in skills (which is what it seems to say in your post), then you have your work cut out for you.

don't be your worst enemy. you need confidence!

It's actually the opposite, i'm strong in my skills but weak with my knowledge. Thanks for the advice though!

Thank you so much!! I really do need motivation. I will do my best to work my butt off this semester.
