Vermont Requirement : Submit a copy of your current nursing license
a. The license must be in good standing and show an expiration date.
b. Please note: If you do not hold a current nursing license you are not eligible to take the
NCLEX through Vermont.
With CA California BON, we can submit a letter to explain why we dont have a local license (not a citizen of the country where we went to school). I know it's obvious there, but just want to hear it from you guys =) that we CANNOT give a letter to Vermont saying that we're not citizen of the country where we went to school, hence couldn't get a local license?? So there's no way to apply at Vermont if i have no local license?

You can always write Vermont a letter stating that you're not a citizen of the country in which you received your education and therefore you're not able to sit for the exam. If you don't try then you will never know. Have you thought about applying for a license in the country in which you are a citizen of? You may want to go that route and see if that will work. California may or may not accept a letter, there have been some that have been able to get away with it and others who weren't able to get away with it and had to go back to their home country and sit for the exam. Good Luck
