Hi Everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those who have applied to the Ventura College nursing program for Spring 2025 admission. Wishing everyone good luck!
Hi everyone. I want to give you all advice that may be beneficial.
Backstory: I was on the waitlist for the ADN program in VC since 2019. I kept getting more certs since I like to stay busy, under the assumption it will help my application ... - So I got my CNA in 2018, worked a year, got rejected into RN --> then went to school for  Medical Assistant in 2020, got rejected into RN again --> Then decided to get into LVN in 2023 graduated 2024--> and after this.... I was STILL on the waitlist (#32 in the ADN) and (#7 on the LVN-RN program).Â
Â
Fast forward.. I got a CMH job as an LVN and come to find out they have a CMH collaborative program where they CHOOSE 10 CMH employees (doesn't matter the department) and they get into the program. (meeting minimum requirements of course). had I KNOWN this... I would have worked at CMH as a CNA back in 2018 and then been done with this once in for all.... so word of advice.. PLEASE get a job in CMH! They are the reason I FINALLY got in after so many years 😞Â
P.S If you're interested in LVN, SBCC still has openings! they are amazing 1.5 years and its free with FAFSA but under 8k if you are paying OOP. 🙂 let me know if you have questions!
