Hi All,
There doesn't seem to be a thread yet for pre-specialty Vandy applicants (the thread going now seems to consist mostly of grad entry), so I thought I'd start one! Any other pre-specialty folks out there? I am from Seattle and applied for the PMHNP track.
Looking forward to seeing who turns up!

Just finished my phone interview. they just asked a few questions and talked about the program. I feel it went pretty good, but I guess I'll find out when they send out acceptance letters. They told me that they were finishing up interviews and that acceptance letters should go out the first of March. Good luck to everyone!
As far as I know the only specialty that requires an interview is PMHNP. So if that's what your chosen specialty is and you don't hear from them about scheduling an interview, its probably not looking good. However, I'm almost positive they are not done interviewing. Reading last years forum it seemed like they were interviewing the whole month of January, if not into February.
I just called admissions. They said that they have not reviewed all applications yet and will be interviewing through the month. I applied just before Thanksgiving, and the admissions rep said that my file was sent to faculty for review on January 8th. She said I could still definitely hear from them, and not to give up hope yet. She also confirmed that only students they are interested in will be interviewed. Holding my breath now--good luck everyone!! =)
Thanks, I'm happy to share stats for PMH.
I have a 580 on the verbal, 5.0 on analytical, but only 480 on quant (last time I took a class other than stats was in 1997 =). I have a 3.7 in prereqs, 3.93 for a BA in Communications and Social Science and a 3.59 from Duke for a Master of Divinity, 10 years human services experience including last 2 at Seattle Children's Hospital, 4 years counseling experience, one year clinical mental health experience, am bilingual and have lived and volunteered in Guatemala. Any else?
So if we don't get an interview soon we should assume we're not getting in?
Only PMHNP is required to have an interview. All other specialties ask for an interview if there is something on your application they would like to talk about. That's the exact answer I got from the admissions director in December. So, don't assume you aren't getting in if you don't hear anything!

Thanks for the good luck. I literally submitted my application on November 30 at like 9:00 PM. I don't know if its a good or bad sign that I have an interview and no one else seems to...
