Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Summer 2016

Published

Hello! I was wondering if anyone was thinking about applying for Vanderbilt's nurse residency program for summer 2016. For those who have applied to other terms or gone through the residency: any advice?!

I applied for the Vanderbilt residency. Finally broke down and created an account just to comment on this thread. The wait has been brutal. I just want to hear, either way. I selected the Adult Emergency track. I am regretting my choice now and wish I had applied for something less selective, but oh well.

Hoping that we all get good news very soon! :)

Just heard today and I have an interview scheduled for March 2. They are starting the emails. Good luck everyone.

What time did you hear @Kymedic25?

Wow congrats that's amazing!! I applied for SICU. I'm really really hoping one comes tomorrow. What did they say in the email?

Congrats, KYmedic. That is so awesome!

Congrats KYmedic! I was actually thinking to myself today I was regretting my choice a little. I was teetering between trauma ICU and Picu and it was such a hard choice! I was sent descriptions from both of those floors from a different hospital that I am interviewing with at the end of this month, and now I think I would def rather do trauma. But either way, it would be pretty cool to work at Vanderbilt so if I get an interview I would still be ecstatic! It's so hard to choose without a variety of clinical exposure.

I agree, Fich. It is just so hard to pick ONE thing that I'm interested in, when in reality I would be happy in almost any unit. Some other residencies allow you to rank your top 3 specialties, so choosing one at Vandy was hard.

The email just said that they are scheduling over 400 interviews, what the dates were and some general information about how to reply and what to do next etc. I am sure they are getting around to everyone, but scheduling 400 interviews has to be time consuming. Don't get discouraged, I am sure y'alls emails are on the way soon.

Congrats! I am interviewing for the CVICU on March 15
