I was just accepted into the VALOR program at the VA and I am going to be working in the ED. I'm very excited about it, but definitely nervous too. I've never had any clinical experience in the ED, so does anyone have any advice about that or just about the VALOR program in general? Thanks in advance :)
Congrats Zesta,
Which VA will you be working at?

Congrats!!! I just got accepted as well in Puerto Rico's VA. They told me I will be working in CICU and I'm so excited to start!!! I've been told by many its the best experience you'll ever receive in nursing school. I did a clinical rotation in the ED of VA and believe me you'll learn a lot!!! I catheterized my first patient there lol. Good luck and congrats once again!
hello. Jen_Jen88 I'm trying to get in the VALOR program in P.R. as well any recommendations you could give me about all the process you took:specs:
Well the director of the school has to recommend you and they have to write a letter of recommendation. You send in all the paper work required which is the directors letter, your transcrips and I forgot what else. But once you send it all in the director of the VALOR program calls you to set up a interview. You go in and answer some questions and she will ask you to go more into detail about the questions you answered. The interview was in spanish and they do perfer for their applicants to be fully bilingual since you have to document in english yet speak to the patients in spanish. I turned my stuff in March and got called in April that I got accepted. Worked the whole summer and they just called me to go work again Oct- May. What school do you attend?
