Valencia College in Orlando: Do they allow recording?

Hello everyone

I start my nursing program in the summer, and I was going to invest in a recorder but I'd like to know if Valencia allows recording in their nursing program. Someone recently brought to my attention that recording is not allowed in some programs due to HIPPA laws. I thought when a professor tells a story they had to change the patients personal information in order to protect them so therefore it wouldn't be an issue.

I would just like to make sure it's allowed before I go out and spend the money!

My sister is at Valencia and records. Perhaps ask at nursing orientation? They don't provide lecture recordings from what I am told.
