I received my acceptance email yesterday! I was wondering if there was anyone else on this site that had also been accepted. Classes start at the end of August and I have a laundry list of things to complete. I'm excited and nervous. My journey to becoming an RN continues. Anyone else in the same boat?
I would love to know how many people have completed the ATN program at Valencia College and if they were able to work. I am trying to be prepared for whats to come. Thanks!
I graduated from the program in May. When I began, I was working, my hours varied between full time and part time. It was a struggle, and by the second semester, I knew I needed to quit to be sucsessful.
Several of my classmates made the same choice. That said, there were a handful of people who continued to work and were successful.
It really depends on your personal situation. Those of us who quit or went PRN have kids and families to take care of, so that's a consideration as well.
Hello everyone!
I am a LPN who is FINALLY ready to go back to school for my RN after 8yrs. I am stressing out about finding a good program. I'm leaning towards Valencia but wanted to know how long after you competed your pre's did it take you to get accepted into the program? Also, what are the class and clinical hours ?? I know it's a hybrid program so how much of it is really online?
I completed my prerequisites in the Spring and was enrolled in the Diet Therapy portion of Nutrition during the application process. I haven't started yet, but I anticipate Wednesday being the clinical days for this term. Each term may be different. They warn that the last semester will have two 12 hour shifts each week for six weeks. We were also told to expect to study daily, even though it's is "online". Good luck with your classes. BTW, I have been an LPN for 16 years, so it's never too late.
Any of you that were accepted in to the program, can you tell me what you GPA's looked like? My overall is a 3.0 and my Pre-req is a 3.5. IF they accept my chemistry class then I have 41 points, 40 if not. I submitted my application on Thursday and I am so nervous and anxious. I hate having to wait so long to find out. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!
