VA Psych NP Salary

Quite a few times, I've seen question about VA NP salaries. Although I believe they're regional, a position for a psych NP (my trade) hit my email this morning. It pays a paltry 63,660 to a max (good luck) of 115,489. Leave is earned at 8 hours per pay period.

Grade is determined by a myriad of factors, but it looks like a NP with master's would enter at Grade II or III. The position goes so far as to list physical requirements like normal color vision, hearing requirements, and the ability to lift 45 pounds. All of this suggests to me that NPs need to be sort of removed from the general nursing requirements with a pay bump.

Note: Applicant's education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining grade and step of the applicant selected.

But hey, at least the benefits are great...
