V.A. Facilities

Hello all,

If there is anyone who have worked in the Federal System, could/would you elaborate on your experience? Would you do it again? Pros and Cons? Type of care received? Anything you regret? If had the chance, would you do it again. Thanks

Hi! I work for the VA in Philly and I absolutely love it! There are days when I wish I called out but, that's nursing! Benefits are ok but it is because they have so many options available for all employee scenarios. I would definitely do it again because you can transfer anywhere in the world that the VA is and keep the same benefits and pension! Working for the government is also very rewarding because you see first-hand where the money goes. People always complain the government wastes so much money but they have no idea what it takes to take care of our Veterans! Also, the ability to network is AMAZING!!! I can contact anyone within the system for advice on a problem and get great resources. Remember, the VA is the largest healthcare network in the country! I'll get off my soapbox now because typing on my iPhone is aggravating! Needless to say, it's worth the effort and time it takes to get into the VA! Also, you should always open as many doors as you can; you can always turn the offer down when it comes!Melissa
