Hi everyone! Is there anybody else out there applying to the University of West Florida for Fall 2012 BSN?
Hey! I am not applying but I just wanted to wish everyone out there good luck. I am currently in the program graduating on May 2012. I got my accepatnce letter May 3, 2010. My gpa at the time was 3.5 and I had not finished all the pre reqs wen I applied. I had about 60+ community service hours. Hopes this gives you an idea ??? Good luck!
Congratulations on your acceptance! Do you know what the average GPA's were from when you were accepted? And how were clinicals and the program as a whole? Thanks!
i'd say 3.5 was about the average. I hated the program while I was in it but now that I look back and am talking to students of other nursing programs, I actually think it is a good program. Clinicals were very awkward at first. You feel out of place, in the way, and clueless! I was so scared first semester in clinical, but thats all apart of nursing. I am still nervous to this day but my skills have improved tremendously. I think awkwardness is the best way to describe clinical! you dont know what to do and you're nervous. First semester is just doing tech work, ya no like bed baths, linen changes. You give meds with your teacher and must have your drug cards with all drug info on it with you. You start at the bottom of the totem pole but the program is a great experience
This wait is making me so anxious! I had a good TEAS score 93, but my overall undergrad GPA was only 3.0. My prerequisite GPA was 3.88. I have regrets about mismanaged priorities in my early college days. Ah. I hope the review board considers recent studies more heavily. The May 17th deadline is quickly approaching! Has anyone heard anything yet?? Good luck to all who applied for the coveted 40 spots!

I talked to a lady named Dale about the program, and she said that they added 10 extra spots, so instead of only accepting 40 they accept 50. She also said because of them changing to the prereq's having to have been completed, many people didn't qualify so they only have about 100 applicants. So hopefully that means we have a better shot! And with your TEAS score, I'm sure you'll have no problem!
