UW Seattle 2021 ABSN

Published

Hi everyone! I was wanting to start a forum for those of us applying to the ABSN program at the University of Washington for Fall 2021. It would be cool to get to know some applicants especially with COVID 19 as a huge factor in our academics and health care experience. I graduated this Spring from UW Seattle with my degree in Medical Anthropology and Global health with a minor in gender women, and sexualities studies. My overall undergrad GPA was a 3.35 and my natural world GPA is around a 3.5. I’ve been working as a med tech and caregiver at an assisted living facility since March with direct care with covid 19 patients. I also have experience volunteering in guatamela for over a month a few years ago, and have conducted research at UW on indigenous centered care. I also plan on applying to the early admissions to DNP for midwifery! Looking forward to hearing from you all!

If anyone wants to volunteer they can call/email and ask admissions about the estimated date of admissions results! I would but I don’t want to annoy them since I already asked about the number of applicants this year LOL!

I’m so nervous. I have a degree in Human services, and we dug deep into equity, so the prompt was easy for me. I was surprised though!

I emailed them! they said we should receive the decisions mid-late December via email! Looking at last years forum, applicants were notified on the 13th!

Same! my degree is in medical anthropology and global health so I felt I had a lot to say in responding to the prompt! I felt very good about the math portion as well.

Wah! Now I need to be on edge from mid to late December ?. Thanks for emailing them. So no phone calls this time all via email? Had read that they phoned all the ones who got in and emailed those who were waitlisted and rejected.

thanks for checking @Iz44 ! Now the question is..... when is "mid-late" December ? Clearly I am very antsy!

Looking forward to hearing updates - can't believe it's already December!

Did they tell you the number of applicants? How many this year?

Yes, they did! It was a bit over 500 applicants this year, so a lot more than normal.

Wow, it's been so long since I've posted on here.

We are making admit phone calls today, with all decisions going out via email this afternoon. Good luck everyone!

Oh my gosh! wow I'm nervous. I work in the OR and there is no cell service only wifi. If we are accepted will we also be emailed?

Yup! The goal is to have emails out around 4pm today!
