I have been reading all the posts for a few months now and just registered today. I am considering nursing for a second career and am hoping to get into the Master's Entry Program in Nursing at University of Washington. It is a very competitive program and right now I am getting all my prereqs done, volunteer work, getting some health care related work experience.
I would love to talk to anyone who has applied or plans to apply to this program and get some pointers and suggestions.
Thanks, and hello to everyone!
i am looking at the focal area of adult acute care nurse practitioner (aacnp) with the apio in perioperative nursing. i really am interested in working in the or or in perianesthesia.

Re: Direct-entry programs
Hello, I am new to allnurses and am looking into a direct entry program. I am curious if anyone knows anything about the University of Washington Masters Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN). I talked to the admissions and for the class that started this June there were 100 applicants and they only accept 20! Yikes! Are all direct entry programs this competitive?
I know UW Nursing is ranked #1 according to US News & World, but I am really curious to find anyone who may have applied to this program. I've read through all the information on their site but looking for inside information.:)
Thanks
