UTRGV Mental Heatlh NP program??

Hello!

is there anyone here that got accepted to UTRGV mental health NP program for the summer 19'? I am a family nurse practitioner that is currently not working full time because jobs are so hard to find in Houston, but I am going back to obtain my post Masters Certificate in Mental Health so I just wanted to see if anyone here applied for the summer and got accepted.

Hi! I have a interview coming up with UTRGV and wanted to know what to expect! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You should be prepared to answer some or all of the questions below. Pre-PMHNP and post-PMHNP program goals are always vital to gaining admission into any graduate level or nursing program.

1. What is your reason for wanting to become a PMHNP?

2. Why did you select the UTRGV PMHNP program?

3. What will you do for the PMHNP profession and your community post- UTRGV PMHNP program completion?

I am sure that a critical thinkers like yourself will not have a problem gaining entry into the PMHNP certificate program. Wishing you the best?

Thanks for the info JimK, RN! Please let me know if you have any other words of wisdom that come to mind.   I've been out of school for quite a long time and very rusty!

Hi,

Brush up on your writing, time management skills, and work/life/school balance. This is what was recommended to me by several PMHNPs that have completed this program. I have been away from this fantastic allnurses forum for a long time.
