UTMB Spring 2011

Published

Quota for this semester is 100.

Ok great! I think I may take the loan route as well.

oooh i didnt realize they had updated the book list. i had printed out the fall 2010 list, good thing u updated me! thanks!

are yall moving or commuting to school??

i'm probably beginning to sound annoying, but kitcait, where did u get that sum? i am looking at the updated list online and when i add up all the books i get roughly $833. i noticed all of them are "required." i counted 7 books, 2 of them being packages.

no its no prob i listed the wrong total 388 i forgot to add in the health assessment bundle and the fundamentals book b/c its not on amazon....i only used the 4 classes required for the first semester; health assessment, intro, patho and pharm, and adult 1. What i should have said is i took 100 off of the total looking up the books i could find. you're right it adds up to about 830 from the bookstore

i really need to get some sleep and off this site!! lol i'm just so excited sorry for the confusion

Hey, about textbooks, be sure you keep your receipts for anything you buy from the UTMB bookstore. Every April, if you give them your receipts, you'll get around 20% back for anything you buy (books, scrubs, t-shirts etc..). You might be able to get some books cheaper on Amazon or Half.com, but keep in mind you'll eventually get around 20% back if you buy them at the bookstore.

Just to answer someones questions a few pages back about the Hep B titer... the only thing they really care about IS the titer. They honestly could care less about proving you had the series, they want proof you have the antibodies for Hep B (which means you did in fact receive the vaccination) You can call the student wellness office to confirm, but EVERYONE must have the titer, if you have a vaccination record then that's just icing on the cake.

Oh and you must have the titer to go to clinicals... good thing is- you have at least 4 or more weeks after the start of the semester before your first clinical, so you have time right now to do the rapid series/titer if you have not started.

If you have any questions or are worried, call the student wellness office as soon as possible and explain your situation. They are awesomely nice, and will be able to give you direction.

Got my acceptance email today!! Congrats to everyone else! :yeah:

I will be moving to Galveston, as I live in the Austin area right now. Anyone interested in being roomates? I do have 2 older small poodles. I may be working while in school.

Does anyone know anything about our clinical attire and where to order it? I want to get mine bought and embroidered asap..one less thing to worry about...

When did they update the book list? Cause when I went on there, originally there was 6 or 7 classes that said jr.

if you look on the bsn program some of the jr classes are for the second semester for the ppl that started last fall
