UTMB Personal Statement

Published

The personal statement for UTMB in Galveston has to be 700 words. Is it ok if it goes over 700 slightly? (Say around 500 words/1 paragraph.) I am applying late but I am still applying before the deadline. I went to talk to the admissions advisor and I remember her saying that it was ok if it went over 700 words but I wrote everything down that she was telling me and I can't find any where that I wrote down she said I could go over 700 words and so now I am second guessing myself.

Also where do we include our volunteer hours on NursingCAS? Or is that going to be on the application they send you once you submit your NursingCAS application?

Thank you for any help.

I applied to the Bacc2 program, so it may be different, but I think the section on NursingCAS where you copy and paste the statement limits it to 700 words. I also noticed an option to attach a document, so maybe that's how you can write more?

The information about volunteer hours is something to include in your personal statement, there's so section to enter it elsewhere. Good luck!

Thank you so much, and yes that is what I was going to do was upload a document because thats what they told me to do at the admissions office. I was going to apply for the same program you did but she convinced me to go for the traditional program and their deadline is January 15th. I'm done, just have to submit it tonight. I just have so much stuff to explain I've gone over about a paragraph and I really don't want to take anything out because of the way it flows together. Thanks again!
