UTMB Fall 2016

Published

Anyone else applying to UTMB for fall 2016?

Is it just me, or is it kind of odd/inconsiderate that schools in the same general area don't let you know about acceptances/rejections at the same time. TWU released admissions already, but UTMB and UT-Health have not yet. If I don't hear back from UTMB or UT-Health, i would have to fork over money to hold my spot at TWU until I find out anything from UT-Health and UTMB. Some schools' deposits are refundable and some are not -__-

Does TWU require a deposit? I was accepted there too but I haven't heard about a deposit yet.

I haven't heard of a deposit at TWU. I was accepted as well and I called to see if there was a penalty if you accepted and then had a change of plans, she said just call the school and tell them you've been accepted elsewhere to give up your spot.

@kmarieuf awkwarddddd -_- I just assumed since a few of them did that TWU did as well. I didnt even follow the link to see what accepting admissions entailed. Do either of you know if they let you know about scholarships or anything before hand?

Lady says it happens all the time and actually said most people don't even call to let them know there was a change of plans. Wasn't awkward at all really. The links are just two forms you sign accepting your position. She said people change plans a lot and it's pretty normal for them.

Oh and I'm completely unaware about the scholarship stuff. I honestly didn't do scholarship research before being accepted.

I had my interview yesterday and it wasn't conversation style like most people's. The lady read off questions, didn't respond to my answers, and was very stone faced. Only lasted about 15 min. Anyone else have this experience? I couldn't gauge whether or not it was going well!

Awe, that stinks. I felt like mine was pretty easy going and even then I questioned a lot of stuff. Don't overthink it. The lady I had told me that it depends on who you get. Keep in mind the decision is made by a group of people. They already decided they liked you enough to have you interview. Then the faculty member who interviewed you rates certain things and write some stuff down and gives it back to the board. Don't get discouraged!

Does anyone know when the next wave of decisions is going to be released? If they were doing it every two weeks then a wave would have been released yesterday.

I think it may have been pushed back a week because of spring breaks. My friend has interview on the 25th and thats the last day of interviews for the second wave. I feel they won't send out the third wave interview letters until after that.

I had an interview March 11th and still have not heard back... Should I be concerned? Anyone else have an interview around that day or on it and have any input?

Mine was March 7th and I haven't heard anything. I did contact someone and they said they hope to have offers out mid April...
