Hello! I am thinking about applying to their FNP program. I've read reviews saying how bad the professors are. The school doesn't not provide help and Guidance to their students and finding clinical sites is a nightmare. I wanted to get opinions from people who have graduated and/or still in the program. How do you feel?

Tbh it'll be difficult but you got this girl! I'm in the same boat- kids and work I'm stressed about how I'm going to make it work. Hopefully we are a part of a good cohort and have support from professors. Do you remember what class we needed exactly? It was biochemistry right I don't remember the code
@FNP2Be17 could you email me? I can't email you I don't have an iCloud compatible with it I tried. [email protected]

Good morning
it's grad school. They won't spoon feed you ( no offense). It's tough. No NP school is easy. At least none that are good. I did not feel unsupported by my professors. There were a few who you can tell cared more than others. and when I say cared, they just were a little more kind and thoughtful somewhere a little strict and more rigid, but nonetheless, the syllabus is the syllabus. The assignments are the assignments and it's on you to complete these assignments. My best advice is to meet members of your cohort and do study groups learn how to network and if you have a lot going on in your personal life think about whether this is the right time for you to go in. Like I said it's not an easy school. I did work full-time while I went to Utica with a young school-age child. It was difficult but if you have a lot going on in your personal life two or three jobs, you're taking care of the entire family they rely on you. This may not be the best program for anyone you have to be focused in nurse practitioner school it is not for the faint of heart and not to scare anyone off, but it is very also doable. There are many people who graduated right along with me started with me ended with me there are a few that dropped out because they either couldn't make the grades or they just lacked on clinical hours when it comes down to the clinical sites they have developed so much of a network within New York and the tri-state Borroughs especially upstate where the school is located that I do not see at all anyone being able to really have a problem. If you have a good networking system, you just work with people who are in cohorts that started before you. I recommend the school to anyone looking for an NP school. They are fair you learn, which is most important you don't wanna go to the bedside and kill somebody because you don't know what you're doing because you went to an easy NP school that just pushed you through they're fair and it's doable

This is great advice! I'm single momming it while working full time and it's def hard but doable. I have a 3.4, could be better but I'm happy with it. I use a lot of study apps and stuff like that and highly recommend investing in licensing exam study guides to get used to the format and help study
