Utica ABSN St Pete May 2019

Published

Hi All,

Has anyone else applied to Utica's May 2019 Cohort? I have just applied and looking for fellow applicants.

I know reviews seem to be pretty bad for the program but I have spoken, emailed, chatted, with a few people in the program and that have graduated from the program.

Same theme: It is hard, it is disorganized, you will have no life, you are done in 16 months.

Rather than wait for a 2020 acceptance from other schools I chose to go heads down for May 19 to be finished when I would be just starting some of the other programs.

Look forward to chatting and possibly being in the same cohort :)

Hi. I am joining May 19 cohort. Have you heard anything regarding your application?

Hey SDRM, sorry for the late reply. I was conditionally accepted so long as I maintain the GPA with my current courses. However, I pushed my application to August 2019. They allow you to do this once I guess.

The admissions counselor is great and keeps me in the loop on everything. From what I have heard they accept everyone though.

Hello... are you going to be attending the Fall? I am joining the Aug 2019 cohort... I really wanted to talk with other students (about housing and what not) so I made a facebook group >.< Problem is I don't know any people, so I am trying to get the word out...

Here is the link Past, current, or future students are welcome to join... Would absolutely LOVE to talk with students who started in May... Please tell anyone you know you might be interested!

Hello @sbacheller -

I decided against going to Utica for a few reasons. First being I took an online class and I had no motivation to follow along until it was time to cram for the exams. This would not bode well for me since this is how most their curriculum is. This with the theme I heard from other students and it being a 60k BSN pushed me further away.

I have since applied to a few entry level MSN programs and have been accepted and will be attending that program in January. I only have to complete 2 more prereqs, cost is less than Utica, and it is an in person program.

I wish you luck in whatever school you attend!

Congratulations on getting accepted, that's so exciting. I don't think I'd be able to get into a MSN program. Also I feel I need more experience, and I want a better idea of where I'm going to specialize

For Utica ABSN St. Pete I have the tuition at $29,988, total cost $46,871 with housing, books, etc. Still not great but I'm considering applying to a loan repayment program.

Best of luck!

Deleted from early (before you replied):

P.S. I've read the same reviews... I too want to get it over now, rather than waiting another year, half year, to get into a slightly better school. I've also heard a lot of advice that the school is not so much important, it's who you meet and how you work once you're in the real nursing world. I'm also going to strongly utilize study groups and my classmates...
