I received an email yesterday saying that they should send out letter's this week. I hope that means tomorrow. It also said that their where a lot of applicants for the fall term. An that there might be a waiting list. Did you receive the same email?

I received the background check email about 2 hours ago :)! I'm pretty sure that means I am accepted??? I am not from the area... Do you have any recommendations about hospitals in SA? My plan is to move down in June and get settled... Any tips about SA would be greatly appreciated!

I was wait listed. I'm sad I really thought I would make the cut undergrad GPA 3.95 prereq 3.82 cul 3.48. I hope I get pick off the wait list. If you dont mind what were your stats? I work for the baptist system were short in most areas so you might want to check it out. I work the ICU were short there too. Let me know if I can be of any help

Im sorry to hear that!.. At least there's still hope! My overall gpa is 3.8... 4.0 in nursing school.. I'm guessing being from outta state helped me. I'm currently a float pool nurse with 2 yrs experience including critical care so I'm hoping to find a prn icu job to work through school..do u know anyone who has went through the np program? I'm curious as to how much I'll be able to work..Did they tell you how many ppl were wait listed?? Hopefully you'll get in!!

I have a co-worker that's in her 1st semester now, and she stated that's it's not hard just a lot of busy work. She works nights 2 days one week and 3 days the other. Classes are all day on Wednesday you can kinda of choose your class sch that was the one that worked for her best. She hopes to go todays soon. No they didn't tell me how many were on the wait list just that they would keep us updated. They did mention that they had 70 competative applicants with only 25 spots and they would start pulling from the list no sooner than 4/23. So I shall wait........ and see. As far as hospital we have 3 major system Methodist, Christus Santa Rosa, and Baptist you can try flex pool you work a certain number of days per month pay is a bit higher I think all 3 hospital have a option for flex just not sure if the other 2 are hiring. You can also try BMAC or SAMC the military hospital the name changed after they merger take a while to be hire on as contract though. What state are you coming from?

That's a relief to hear that your co-worker is working that much! I'll be moving from North Dakota. I've applied to numerous jobs with Baptist and have not heard back on any of them, which is surprising because they have a ton of open jobs... I'm wondering if it's because I don't have a TX license yet? I have been playing phone tag with recruiters at Christus Santa Rosa and Methodist. I'm not sure quite what to tell them as I would like to work full time this summer and parttime/flex during the school year.. not exactly ideal for them! Last night I actually spoke with a travel nurse company looking for med/surg nurses for Baptist... I think I may take a travel assignment for the summer since the pay is good with living expenses included. I can't believe you are the only other fall fnp applicant on here.. it would be nice to know there are other out there. Let me know if you get in!
