Hi there and congrats! I am applying for the Fall 2020 semester, trying to make the deadline!

I ran across the requirement that 1/3 rec letters be a "faculty reference from the BSN program". Honestly a little thrown off by this....did you track down one of your old BSN professors for a letter when originally applying?

The RN to MSN track is the ADN prepared nurse to the MSN. I never got my bachelors. But I did get a letter from one of my instructors in my ADN program.

Hi 29Almost FNP! I've been searching this site for SOMEONE who has applied to UT Houston Cizik SON Summer or Fall 2020!

I applied for the MSN PMHNP program for Summer 2020. Applications were due Jan 10. I'm wanting to just touch base with others to share updates! Have you already heard from them for your Fall 2020 start?

Hi icurn40... I applied for the PMHNP MSN program for Summer 2020.

Have you heard from UT Houston yet?

What courses were used to determine your gpa? What was your gpa? I’m wanting to apply? Heard they only accept like 10 per cohort So it must be very competitive.

Hello,

I am interested in applying to the FNP program at UTHSC for Summer/fall 2021 and wanted to know if others who started the program recently would be willing to share their experiences. How is the workload for 2 classes a semester? I assume everything is all online currently? Do they find your clinical placements? Any advice or any information is greatly appreciated!

I can only speak to the RN to FNP program and your course load varies from semester to semester. It can be cumbersome but it’s doable. I’m attending while also working a full time job. They do not find clinicals for you. You have to find your own.
