i am applying for accn bsn this year, although i still have few pre-requsite to do. when is the right time tom start applying.:confused:

no hun as long as you get it done before sept 1, but do everything else so its the last thing to go

Another Spring 2012 hopeful here! I'm taking some classes in the summer, have already taken the HESI, so I'll be ready by the application deadline. Go hard or go home for real! Good luck to all!:D

Welcome! How did you find the hesi? How dis you study?

@saraiish

In my opinion, the HESI was fairly easy. It's the TEAS that worries me-gotta take it for another program. In regards to the HESI, I purchased the study guide and only focused on those areas that I was either weak in or needed a refresher. Study smart...not hard. You'll do well! No worries!:D

Thanks! I worry about the teas more as well and I am studying harder for that

@ Blue River

Thanks for your insight and for sharing your experience! Persistence is a valuable asset and will serve you well outside of nursing school. Good luck on your journey! :D

I'm a Spring 2012 hopeful as well:) Have taken the Hesi once, but will take it again later in the summer to improve my score. I had a problem with the testing center not telling me the correct info, and I ran out of time. Good luck to everyone. I'm also applying to UTA and Lonestar as well. UTHSC is my first choice:)

Hi, am also a UTH 2012 hopeful, I had wanted to apply for the spring but, won't have my 40 credit hours completed before the sept 1st deadline. Was wondering if I should apply anyway since they would all be in by October 1st, I am currently taking 10 this summer and will have 7 to go, for the first 8 weeks at HCC. Does anyone know if this will be considered or is going to be a waste of time?

If I were you, I would call and ask because there's no harm in doing that, BUT it says specifically on their website, and on the application form, that everything (transcripts, HESI A2 scores, and the form itself) should be submitted by the Sept. 1st deadline. I know it sucks, but there isn't much you can do about it. :( I missed out on applying for their Accelerated BSN program because I didn't take the HESI in time to complete my application by the December 1st deadline, but I ended up just applying for the Fall generic program and got into it. If things end up not working out for the spring, you can always apply for the next semester, which I believe is fall '13. I'm not sure about the requirements for the other nursing programs in Houston, but you should look into them as well if you haven't already. Good luck.

OK just took my hesi A2 looking at a 92, and a 3.5 science gpa and 3.5 general gpa, makes me nervous

Hello. I'm also applying for UTH nursing this spring. I'm still preparing for the HESI and the TEAS. I plan to take them early August.

Already taken HESI and TEAS. Just finished my AA but it won't go on my transcript until September sometime most likely. HCC takes forever to evaluate degrees. I have all my prereqs done and I'm core complete, but my admissions sheet still says incomplete because I have "classes still in progress." I'm wondering if it's always going to say that if I'm enrolled in fall classes that show up on my transcript...
