UTH Class Schedule

Nursing Students General Students

Hello! I wanted to see if I could get some insight on what a typical week looks like for a nursing student at UTH Cizik School of Nursing. I plan on applying for their Spring 2020 Pacesetter BSN program but I will need to work while in the program. I currently work for UTMB and I'm wondering exactly how many hours a week I can work while in the program. Can I do a full 40? Only 20-32 hours? Please let me know what a typical week schedule is like for ya'll!

“The Pacesetter BSN is a full-time program of study. Students are in class at least 2-3 days a week and participate in clinicals at various times including nights and weekends. Generally, because of the pace, students are not encouraged to work.”

Hi! So I got admitted to this summer semester and this is how my week looks like. The upperclassmen in our Facebook group who started in Spring had a similar schedule as my cohort.

Monday: 7am to 3:45pm health assessment (The upperclassmen said class ends at about 9 and so we aren't there the whole time but we are divided in 3 lab times so it depends when you get the lab which are from 9:15-11:15 or 11:30-1:30 or 1:45-3:45)

Tuesday: 7:30am to 1pm adult health care I

Wednesday: 8am to noon pharmacotherapeurics and 1pm to 4:20pm pathophysiology

Thursday, Friday or Saturday will be the day of your clinical. (Clinicals will be once a week this first semester but we dont start clinicals until about week 6. The first 5 weeks are lab days which are held on Fridays)

Alsooo. Even though the site says you shouldn't work, at our student Q&A panel during "orientation" a couple said they worked both part time and full time and it was manageable if you managed your time wisely although one didn't recommend working during the summer semester since it is a 12 week semester rather than 16.

Thank you so much! This is super helpful. I need to start the process right now if I wanna have the right amount of work hours per week for school. You're awesome! Good luck!
