This is my first post on this site but I have enjoyed the threads very much and they have helped me with a lot of confusion regarding this crazy proffession we have all willingly entered. I am half way done with my ADN program here in Austin Texas and have applied with Texas Tech University and University of Arlington (both onine ADN-BSN programs) to attain my BSN post graduation. I do not plan on stopping there by any means.
My original plan was to go for my FNP (again online) with either program that I get accepted for my ADN-BSN because the consensus is that its "easier" to stay at one school, which makes sense. I am now seriously considering my DNP.
TTU is the cheaper route
UTA is the easier to get into route (from what I have read)
Frontier "seems" like the more direct route (meaning they have BSN-FNP-DNP already built into the curriculum)
I plan on working as RN while getting BSN so my 1-2 years of RN experience should be taken care of
I am interested in ANY information with ANY of these schools because my options are very very open at the moment.
Main Questions
Does anybody know about these dnp programs and why are you getting your DNP?
Does anybody know about how much it costs to get your FNP? DNP? from these schools
How long will it take to get FNP from the school? DNP?
I know this is a lot and I will take any advice or information from anyone that can give it!
