I am nervous because of all the reg reviews but every school has negative reviews. From what state are you doing this program?

Hi everyone, I am planning to apply to UTA FNP program. How's the program going? How was the application process? As far as the classes do the professor offer videos and PowerPoint for lectures? Are they helpful and supportive? Please help I really would like to get some insight on this program. Thanks, everyone, and congratulations.

Hi Taylor. I am currently enrolled in PMHNP program. Application process was very straightforward. I applied online and received acceptance in less than 3 weeks. PMHNP is technically a hybrid program but we only have to go on campus during health assessment classes. As far as classes, I am currently taking 2 classes. I am so disappointed in the organization of both classes and I am pretty sure my classmates feel the same. We meet once a week for each classe on zoom. We have discussion boards, papers , quizes for Theory class. There are case studies, exams and 1 paper for Patho. Patho has recorded lectures and slides from the instructor. I would me more than happy to answer any specific questions you have.

I think it really depends on your instructor. For our instructor, she has recorded lectures, lecture notes and chapter outline. Some instructors give you blueprint, but ours don't. So basically you read the lecture notes and try to understand the concept. If I do not understand the concept, I refer to the book for that particular topic. I also use online resources like Khan academy. To be honest, I do not like just listening to the lectures. The instructor just reads from the slide. You basically study everything on your own.
