I applied to the Fall 2020 FNP program at UTH Houston (Cizik School of Nursing) right before the application deadline, 6/15/2020. Was curious if anyone else who applied close to the deadline has heard back about interviews? I've been accepted into another Texas-based program but UTHouston is my first choice, so I'm waiting until the last second to accept the other program.

Hi Casey,

I applied for Fall 2020 and still haven't heard anything. Have you gotten an update now?

Yes. I emailed the track coordinator and she set up an interview with me for the next day. I think the registrar is behind. I’d go ahead and reach out directly.

Thank you so much I will reach out to the coordinator. When did you have your interview and how was it if you don't mind me asking?

I had it on Thursday. It was a very nice interview. Lasted about 20 minutes. Just talk about yourself and your goals....seemed like they like when you have a plan moving forward. Got my acceptance letter 3 days later.

Thank you so much for the feedback. And congratulations on your acceptance.

Thank you, and good luck on your interview!

Hey all, this is a little off topic but I live in New Jersey and am planning to move to Houston in the Spring of 2021. I would love to apply to UT Houston BSN-DNP program for acute care. I was wondering if any of you could offer some insight as far as admissions go. I’ve read the minimum requirements but I am curious what the “competition” is like. What GPAs are accepted, how competitive the program is, what the interview process is like, etc. Any information/insight/advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA

I am planning on applying to the school for the FNP. Does the school help with the clinical placement? Thanks
