Using tablets/ipads for school

Hello everyone!

My current computer is really beginning to show its age, and my husband was looking at his options for what to do. He asked me if I would benefit from a tablet for school (as in, being able to keep my books on it, use it in class). He said if he got me a tablet, he would still slowly work on upgrading my computer. Otherwise, he would build a new one or get me a laptop.

So, current/past nursing students, did you use a tablet for school, or perhaps knew someone who did? Was it helpful? Did you take notes with it, or how did you use it?

Any feedback is appreciated! :cat:

Love, love, love my iPad for my books and online content/learning. I was super excited to use it for notes in class...I got one note, Notabillity, a fancy keyboard, etc all with the intention of using it for taking notes in class. But it didn't really work out that way. For me, it's just easiest to take notes the old fashion way. During class I follow along with the powerpoints or look at charts, graphics, etc on the iPad but note taking turned out not to be realistic for me. I still use my laptop or desktop for writing papers and stuff that doesn't work on the iPad, but I don't ever take it to school.
