Using a Littmann 3200 Electronic Stethoscope for nursing school?

My family doctor is giving me a littmann 3200 electronic stethoscope as present for entering nursing school. Although I have purchased a littmann classic light weight already, would it be strange to use such an expensive, over the top stethoscope for nursing 101?

I have the Littmann 3000 electronic stethoscope. My hearing is also off by several decibels in each ear, so I needed the sounds amplified. I never really thought of it as being overkill. Rather something I needed. However, just about every doctor who seen it around my neck asked if they could “see” it. If I would have charged each doctor $5 to “see” it, I would have paid cash for nursing school. The one I chose to get does not record the sounds for me.
