USFCA-Sacramento-Spring 2018 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all,

I decided to start this thread in order to communicate with others that have applied to the University of San Francisco spring 2018 BSN program at the Sacramento campus.

Also any advice from current students would be greatly appreciated like typical school day and clinical sites? I'm applying as a transfer with 3.8 GPA, 5 years of medical experience with direct patient care.

One last question, typically when do they start sending out notifications? I'm so anxious and excited all at the same time. Any input provided would be greatly appreciated.

No I still need Lit, Phil, Ethics and Fine Arts. I had both Micro and Physio in progress and just waiting for the professors to post grades so I can send in my final transcript. Yes I do have patient care exp from 2012-2016 but I'm no longer working just school full time and 3 kiddos. They sent me the username in the letter I just had to create my password using my student number for login the first time which was in the letter also. And oh yeah I haven't taken the Nurs 100 series courses either.

Sorry to hear that about your husband. I'm not sure how much weight goes into the essays. I didn't think my essays were very strong but I guess they were good enough. I'm not sure how good my letter of Recommendation was because I had to scramble last minute to find someone on short notice because my professor was unable and the person had like 1.5 days to get it in. I'm saying all that to say don't get down yet. It's not over and who knows your letters could be in the mail too. And yes I admit just going through the application process and not knowing is tough in itself.

I haven't got anything today either :(( My friend says that if I'm rejected then thats okay at least next time we can know what we lack and will be able to have a good chance to get in. Also, he says that we are supposed to receive a letter either rejected or not. So I guess we should wait till next week? However, it's so unsure know that one of us received a letter already.

Did anyone had a chance to contact the school admissions to see if we still have to wait till next week? I'm losing my mind.

I contacted the school on Friday and got 2 different answers. All I know is the schools are open until Thursday, but then they are on a holiday break. One person said we should hear something by Tuesday, but another person said we won't necessarily know by Christmas and that not everything is done all at once. So I am super confused. With children, I would have to line up childcare, so a last minute decision would be more difficult, but I also couldn't turn down an opportunity. So I guess we just continue to wait for some sort of correspondence: good or bad.

I have given up hope, so it will be a nice surprise if anything comes in the mail! Everyone, please keep each other posted! If it doesn't happen this time around, I am sure we will get in the second time! Fingers crossed for all of us, now back to TEAS studying for me :(

Did anyone else get the letter yet? I too applied and have yet to recieve it. I'm so scared but I was so confident going in considering I have all the courses finished (aside from the ones you must complete at USF) and have a 3.9 gpa but now I am feeling as if I did not get accepted as I've yet to recieve anything. Everyone keep us updated!

I still haven't heard a word either! :(

I am awaiting a Spring 2018 decision as well and have not heard anything.

Sorry! I talked tot he school earlier in the week. They have made there first round of decisions. If not enough people pay their deposit they will proceed with a second round of applicants. There is no way to find out where you are on the list. Just wait and be patient!

Oh god that is so disheartening to hear. I thought i had a great chance at being accepted with a 3.9 gpa but if they do not accept me then nobody will. Oh god time to switch majors.

Thanks for the update! I am very curious what they are looking for regarding who they are picking for their cohort! And MaryHG I would NOT change majors with that GPA! That is so amazing! I registered for three out of the five classes they want you to have at ARC. Hopefully having those knocked out will help next go around. I am also supposed to start up volunteering again. I just wish we knew what all these schools were looking for. I mean, willing to pay up to 100k, I feel like it is pretty obvious we all want it bad enough!

Exactly! But do you think that they will at least send us a rejection letter?
