USFCA-Sacramento-Spring 2018 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all,

I decided to start this thread in order to communicate with others that have applied to the University of San Francisco spring 2018 BSN program at the Sacramento campus.

Also any advice from current students would be greatly appreciated like typical school day and clinical sites? I'm applying as a transfer with 3.8 GPA, 5 years of medical experience with direct patient care.

One last question, typically when do they start sending out notifications? I'm so anxious and excited all at the same time. Any input provided would be greatly appreciated.

How did you schedule the TEAS? I thought they were booked at every school.

You go through the ATI website :) I am taking them at sac city

I am waiting to sign up until I officially get rejected from USF. I will apply to JC's and everywhere else local.

I am applying at ARC, Sierra, Sac state, Sac city and Chamberlain for Fall 18. I also have 2 Bs and an A in sciences for the exact same reason lol We were also in the middle of a move and kids the same age. I am taking my TEAS in January also. I have heard its easier than the Kaplan ENtrance exam which I took almost 2 years ago, studied 2 days and got a 77. I am confident I would do better now. I got a TEAS study book from Barnes and noble im gonna start studying in a week or so.

I applied to Chamberlain last year! Unfortunately I got the dreaded denial phone call from them, they left me bitter so I am going to do strictly JC's this spring and if I still don't get in then I will consider Chamberlain again. I got a C in chem so I'm not even attempting Sac State. I am applying to the same as you, plus Butte, Yuba (I just finished their pharm and patho prerequisites), solano, MAYBE napa, and even stockton!! I live up in Rocklin so Sierra would be AMAZING, plus SCC, ARC, Sierra you can get your BSN with your ADN!!! I bit the bullet and bought the crazy expensive ATI module study system (like $236) last night, just because I felt so loss with all my books! It seems to be a good system so far! It is really helping me zone in on the areas that have faded in my memory (apparently I completely forgot everything in the digestive system). Where are you taking the TEAS?

Ya I took a couple practice quizzes and realized I need to brush up on my math. It is probably simple stuff but its just been a while since I have had to do any of that. The last math I did was stats a year ago. I am actually in Alaska right now but moving back to the folsom area next fall most likely unless I were to get in up here and not in CA. The program here is the only one within a 12 hour drive and they take 16 students lol so its not easy to get into. I was one alternate away from getting in last year so hopefully do better with Ca schools. I am taking my TEAS at the testing center here at UAF.

Not sure if this applies to us. I read through some older posts last night and one of them mentioned there twitter account, so I looked and this is what I saw USF Admission (@USFCA_Admission) on Twitter

OH MAN!!! Hopefully that included the Sac campus!!! AHHHH!!! Either going to be a very happy Christmas, or a Christmas hiding in my room studying for the TEAS! I am preparing for denial so I won't be a complete grinch! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I feel the same way. The disappointment usually gets better the day after receiving news, but maybe you will be the happiest person ever! No promises, I am hoping maybe Saturday or Monday we will receive something in the mail. I will also be studying for the TEAS if I get bad news. But I am waiting to study, register and buy study material until I know for sure.

OMG guys I just checked my mail and I got accepted for Spring 2018! Anyone else get any news today?

Congrats! Did you get it today in the mail?

I just checked and still no mail yet.
