use of liquid adhesive with wound vac drape?

Wondering if anyone is using liquid adhesive ie Mastisol,et al, to additionally secure Tegaderm drape with KCI V.A.C.? Problem isn't air or fluid leak, but corner of dressing is in a rather mobile section of skin-perineum/scrotum of highly active young man-paraC5-7./bilat. AKA/self-transfers bed-w/ch.,with a St.IV undermined PU,dx.osteomyelitis (L) ischium,on IV Vanco. 98% of this dressing is beautifully intact except this problem spot. Requires additional reinforcement almost each shift until next complete dressing change. Restricts his transfers to just daily,but is in constant motion in bed,repositioning himself-is fiercely independant. I'm familiar c wound vacs,but am unsure if the use of additional adhesive is contraindicated c this brand. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry to see I've discovered this forum until now, so my post will not be pertinent to that specific patient. However, the use of liquid adhesives is probably universal with experienced VAC practitioners.

We use mastisol to secure our wound VAC drapes and detachol adhesive remover to take them off. They both work very well.

have you tried the gel strips that KCI produce for use with their VAC drape, I've used them on that kind of area and it works , if you are going to use anything not specifically designed for the Product speak to the company about compatibility primarily because of covering your orifice should anything go wrong .

we tend to get our SCI patients with vacs in to limit both the number of transfers and the during of time off the bed.

the fact he's managed to get a grade 4 sore with bone involvement means someone needs to put the fear of god up him regarding this wound and the likelihood of amputation or death if it doesn't get sorted ... Has it been surgically debrided and the bone reviewed by a SCI doc or orthopod ?
