USAGPAN 2013 "Roll Call"

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello everyone. I was accepted into the Veterans Administration component of the United States Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing. I am currently a VA employee. The application process has been a long one and I have worked hard to get to this point. I am looking to communicate with anyone in the program now, anyone who has been accepted to start June 2013 and especially I would love to talk to any other VA applicants that have been accepted or that are currently in USAGPAN.

Hello everyone. I am also one of the 4 VA members attending the 2013 crna program. I'm currently at the Marion, IL va facility but awaiting sponsorship from a complex surgery facility so I'm totally unsure of where I will be going over the course of our next 6 years.

Well it looks like you will definately know where you are going for the next three years. I'll be right there with you. I've spent quite a bit of time in texas. San Antonio isn't half bad. Austin is real close and Texans in general are sweet people. I have no idea what memphis is like. Tennessee seems pretty cool. Lots of great music in memphis if you like Blues.

Hi

I'm thinking about the USAGPAN in the long run if I make it. I'm still a BSN student graduating December this year and working a VA VALOR program now at the progressive care unit. I shadowed 3 CRNAs and will shadow more with them soon, but 2 of them graduated from USAGPAN with one of them being a veteran and one of them a VA employee who graduated recently. They told me that the program is a DNP. I fell in love with my shadow experiences with them and really inspired me to be a CRNA, but I forgot to ask them about the requirements for VA employees but found the site, Nurse Anesthetist Education - Specialty Care Services , I wanted to know what made it a long process. I'm thinking it's all the letter of recs to get and the experiences.

Thanks and good luck! Congrats on making it this far, you're all shining role models for me!
